Chairman’s Opening Remarks
It is my great pleasure to present the 2024 Annual Report of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Nairobi. This report reflects our continuous achievements for the duration under review. It is a testament to the collective efforts of our staff, and students in advancing the discipline of Political Science. Our Department continued to thrive in 2024, growing in teaching, research, consultancy and community service. The dedication of the staff has led to impactful research, and the nurturing of a dynamic teaching and learning environment. Our students have demonstrated incredible thirsty for knowledge, a quality vital for the future growth of Political Science discipline. The year 2024 was of important milestones, which I am confident will shape the future trajectory of our Department.
Through our mission of providing “quality teaching, learning, research and consultancy in social sciences by creating, preserving, transmitting and utilizing knowledge”, the Department hopes to cultivate the next generation of policymakers, academics and leaders who will contribute to solving the challenges faced globally. The Department will constantly adapt to new trends, exploring interdisciplinary opportunities, and embracing the dynamic nature of the political world.
I express my deepest gratitude to the Department’s academic staff for unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching and research, to our students for their passion and dedication, and to our administrative staff for their tireless support. Together, we continue to build a Department that not only excels in academia but also serves as a resource for our broader community. Thank you for your continued unwavering support. I look forward to relentless success of our Department in the years to come in line with our vision, mission and core values.
