UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI NEW CHANCELLOR MAKES A TOUR AROUND THE UNIVERSITY

 On Monday,29th January 2024,The University of Nairobi newly appointed Chancellor , Prof. Patrick Verkooijen was  welcomed by the  University Community   through an elaborate tour and engagement meetings with the University top management, staff and students.

The 4-day official visit started with a tour of all the ten faculties in the University, where Professor  Verkooijen had the opportunity to interact with faculty members, administrators, and students. This immersive experience allowed the Chancellor to gain valuable insights into the diverse academic offerings and research initiatives across the University.

 During his University address, Prof. Patrick Verkooijen emphasized the importance of fostering global competitiveness through strategic partnerships and collaborations. He also engaged with students in a townhall session where he encouraged all students to work hard and aim at solving societal issues that affect the world at large. He reiterated that he will support the University and work towards making it a world class University.   

During his visit,he elaborated on his new role  as the University Chancellor as well as his vision to put the University at greater heights.As a University Community, we wish Prof. Verkooijen well as he starts his tenure in the University.
