PhD Students Sensitization Workshop-3rd February 2025.

The Department hosted PhD Students Sensitization Workshop, themed "Research, Resilience and Responsibility" on 3rd February 2025. The Workshop was officially opened by the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Jack Odhiambo. The Dean emphasized that the theme of the workshop was both timely and significant., noting that in a world that is constantly changing and facing unprecedented challenges, the roles of research, resilience, and responsibility have never been more critical. The Chairman of the Department observed that "research empowers us to explore complex political systems, understand social dynamics, and address global issues, all while being mindful of our responsibility to the communities we serve and the future generations we impact. Resilience, as we know, is central to our journey as researchers. It requires us to persevere in the face of setbacks, to adapt in times of uncertainty, and to continuously push the boundaries of knowledge. Today’s workshop will provide you with tools, insights, and guidance on how to build this resilience, while maintaining an ethical and responsible approach to our work. He encouraged students to take full advantage of the discussions the workshop offers, arguing that the insights that will be shared will not only strengthen their research but also reinforce the shared responsibility they all have in shaping the future of political science, both within and beyond the walls of academia.
