2026 ACADEMIC SEMINAR SERIES
On 17 February 2026, the department officially opened its Academic Seminar Series for 2026. Presided over by the Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts Dr. Kenneth Ombogi, the Seminar brought together members of academic staff from various departments as well as undergraduate and graduate students. Mr. Japheth Ondieki, a PhD student in Public Policy presented a paper titled " Politics of AI: Gender Accountability and Representation in AI-Enabled Social Protection Policies in Africa". The paper was discussed extensively by Dr. Elisha Makori from the Department of Library and Information Science. Dr. Justine Magutu from the Department of Political Science moderated the session. In his address, the Associate Dean urged other departments in the faculty to emulate the department of Political Science and that of History and Archeology, for having institutionalized academic seminars. The Chairman, Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Dr. Oscar Otele, reiterated the commitment of the department in advancing research through frequent seminars and international conferences.
